Almost half of surgical procedure patient deaths occur after the procedure is complete, when the patient is awake. This is partly due to the inherent difficulties with monitoring the recovering pet. The SKYPaws device will allow for more efficient and effective monitoring of patient vitals, thus reducing the number of complications encountered after a surgical procedure. SKYPaws has a provisional patent and a first generation iteration of the device that includes heart rate, SpO2, and electrocardiogram. The monitoring device can be used for quick access or for extended monitoring (ie. recovery period), where the device is taped onto the patient and will alarm the veterinarian or technician whenever there is a problem with the pet. After monitoring is complete, the data is converted into a PDF that can be exported into the patient records....
