We're run by a group of Carnegie Mellon, UCLA, Stanford graduates, now at FAANG companies, with the aim of changing the status-quo of a traditionally credential driven work-force to that of a skill-driven one. How it works:
With the already existing organic brand of Slingshot, we reach out to students, schools, college counsellors, high school clubs to identify top computer science talent and put them through a proprietary tech interview process that mirrors that of FAANG interviews. We ensure high-quality control and only accept students who demonstrate abilities similar (often exceeding) those of entry-level FAANG engineers. This interview funnel is largely automated yet personalized enough to identify the most genuine talent.
We then source startups from CMU, CMU VentureBridge, UCLA (first customers) with this talent part-time/full-time, taking a percentage fee of the compensation paid. As a secondary source of income, we also offer paid educational programs (such as bootcamps, immersive learning) to a significant number of students who may not make the interview cut or are just beginning their journey in Computer Science. Having only recently started to monetize, we have raised ~ $12K in the past three months through our existing network.

The quality of untapped talent that we're identifying is what is truly noteworthy -- both domestically and internationally, we have validated that high school students are capable of real-world engineering -- students who know web-dev, mobile-app programming, AI, ML, blockchain back of their hand. This has largely been enabled due to free internet, numerous quality educational opportunities outside of school -- and we are the first to be extracting tangible value from this while giving students their next-level opportunity.

We're now a team of 4 core members, with a CEO, CTO, COO and CFO -- and departments in marketing, outreach, education in the process of incorporation.
