Canny has been developed through the building of strong partnerships. The UK’s largest online electrical retailer, AO World, will manage product and fulfillment. Local credit unions and the National Housing Federation will provide credit for products. Users will find out about the service through a network of referral support partners including Local Authorities, Housing Associations and front line support agencies like CAB.

Income is generated in two ways: through a margin obtained from each product sold on socanny.com and through referral commissions obtained by switching customers from 3rd party product suppliers. Canny is a social enterprise and by definition is run on a not-for-profit basis, with any incremental profit generated (after payroll, overheads etc.) being reinvested back into the company.
