CIGO! for Smart Cities helps cities make sense out of all the data available in order to improve the operational efficiency of their services to ultimately make an impact on the citizen’s quality of life. Use cases include the management of tourism and shopping, police and security and eco mobility among others. On the other hand, CIGO! Fleet Management provides companies with a tool to plan routes and interact with fleets, analysing geolocated data without the need for sensors, intensive server use or expensive hardware.
CIGO! is based on a routing and recommendation in-device mobile technology that is unique in the market. It provides offline routing calculation and GPS tracking, bidirectional communication between app users and owners, and allows data integration from any source.

I have known Larri since 1995 and have followed his successful career, both as an academic and entrepreneur. Larri built up his small company by delivering outstanding value and innovation in the database space to large multinational companies, such as IBM and CA Technologies, as well as public entities in Catalonia and beyond. Larri’s students are among the brightest I have encountered in my experience working in industry-academia collaboration, and reflect their supervisor’s outstanding technical and organizational leadership. To wit, when faced with the task to open a European lab for CA Technologies, we chose Barcelona as its location and hired one of Larri’s PhD graduates to head it, which he has done with great success.
