2. Conventional kitchen sponges are made out of 2 polyurethane polymers, and can’t be recycled, composed or biodegrade. Approximately 50 billion sponges are disposed annually, and will remain in the landfills for 52,000 years. The dryer is made out of diatomaceous earth, which instantly absorbs moisture and quickly dries the sponge. This helps to reduce the growth of the bacteria in the sponge between uses and promotes a cleaner and a healthier kitchen environment.
The sponge is made out of soft cellulose and cotton/hemp blend scouring layer. The cotton/hemp scorer has natural antibacterial properties, which reduces bacteria growth and keeps the sponge clean. An ergonomic shape of a water drop sponge perfectly fits in the hand, with the pointy end that is designed to reach into grimy corners of glasses and bowls. Sponge is infused with natural eco soap that lasts for approximately 20 washes. After 2-3 weeks the sponge will stop foaming, which is an indicator to replace the sponge.
