Consumers are busier than ever today. It’s hard to get answers to simplest survey questions like “What was your last purchase?”

Most marketing research is done “after the fact.” It does not accurately capture the range of information needed: from the how, when, why and where consumers are making purchase decisions, to broader attitudes, brand awareness and use patterns to tracking actual behaviors.

The sharp rise in smartphone penetration allows for enhanced engagement with more consumers, using place-based technologies, accelerometer, microphone and other IoT sensors.

The sharp rise in smartphone penetration allows for enhanced engagement with more consumers, using place-based technologies, accelerometer, microphone and other IoT sensors.

Challenge:
Evolve the consumer research business model by making full use of smartphone enabled technologies, from both active survey questionnaires and passive behavioral data capture.

Squawk Surveys Solution:
We use smartphone-generated data to help our customers better understand their customers.

We can actively engage consumers via smartphone apps or SDK to ask the right survey questions, at the right time, at the most appropriate places.

We can capture a variety of passive data, from place-based information that can track day-to-day behavior to respondent identity validation and physical activities using the smart-phone accelerometer and even utilize the microphone to record information.

Data is then analyzed by our proprietary algorithms, to help provide meaningful consumer insight outputs such as attitudes, awareness, use patterns, consideration, purchase intent, purchase motivators, actual purchase decisions and post-purchase product/service satisfaction levels.

Specific use cases may include:
- Place-based (GPS / WiFi) respondent identity validation and analysis of daily activities can inform the best time to send out a survey.
- Track day-to-day routines, work commutation & travel patterns to track what is happening and when, then ask (via survey) what can’t be tracked.
- POI (point-of-interest) data can track and help predict consumer behaviors, informing better targeting, more relevant messaging and effective media selection. Data helps build targeting algorithms and benchmark performance vs. competitors.
- Travel patterns / behavior for point-to-point analysis of venues visited and activities undertaken.
- Data can inform more objective and accurate lifestyle segmentation schemes / target persona profiles.

I've met Mihail Zarin during my time in Startup Sauna seed accelerator. I find Mihail a great entrepreneur with a passion to solve real customer problems. His ability to drive the whole team forward is remarkable and I'm sure he and his team will be very successful.

Olga Steidl Chief Executive Officer at Talkbits

Mihail is one of the most dedicated and creative founders I know. Pushing his startups even when everything is against it and finding unexpectable ways out - is definitely his strength

Peter Tatischev Co-Founder at Ecamb.com

I've known Mihail since his previous startup which was acquired a few years ago. He is a diligent founder, has great experience with all things surveys, analytics and sociology and can provide great insights and vision.
When I was running the Founder institute he has helped us a lot as a mentor sharing his experience with emerging entreprenneurs.
He is very open, alwasy ready to help, and also very resourceful when having to bootstrap a business and run it on a shoestring originally. Combines with Artem's management and product experience the team is clearly capable of delivering great results.
