Amazing things Steve's made
Though I have been involved within the ISP/Telco industry since there was a commercial presence in the UK having worked for Demon Internet the first UK consumer ISP and helping it grow from 120 customers to over 250,000 then see it acquired by Scottish Telecom and then floated as THUS Plc. I think the greatest impact that I have made in recent years is CoFounding City Meets Tech.

In 2011 recognising the difficulties that start-ups faced getting early stage investment and that Shoreditch was a stone’s throw away from the City of London, but a world apart

The first event had around 100 attendees from the City and speakers such as Erik van de Kleij, Lord Young, Anil Hansjee and Glenn Shoosmith.

City Meets Tech allowed many companies attract seed investments such as Blaze (now Beryl), Network Locum and Picfair and adopted the premise that a start-up should never 'pay-to-pitch', which significantly changed the investment landscape since.
