SUN is an acceleration programme that provides business, funding and technical mentorship through the Space Hubs Network to accelerate startups in the stages of pre-incubation, pre-acceleration and post-acceleration.

The programme has an open call for start-ups and scale-ups, with closing dates to evaluate and choose the startups. The open call for mentors will remain open throughout the programme, however please note the cut-off date to be considered for the first batch.

We are seeking mentors for the SUN programme for our startups in the following stages:

Please kindly indicate how many hours (max) a month you could commit to dedicate as a mentor under Q15. Final amount would be discussed case by case, based on your indicated availability.

The project offers the option to apply for paid or pro-bono mentorship. The hourly remuneration for paid mentors will be 60 EUR.

The startups in the different stages will have a connection to the space sector, including:
• Outside the Space sector with an innovative idea for the Space sector
• Inside the Space sector with an innovative application outside the Space sector
• Outside the Space sector with an innovative idea for any sector, but the innovation clearly benefits from technology and/or data from the Space sector.

MENTOR SELECTION PROCESS:
1. Fulfil and submit the application form – once submitted it will be valid for the programme duration
2. Pre-selection on the cut-off dates (each cut-off date only new applications will be assessed)
3. Pre-selected applicants join the pool of mentors
4. Selection of mentors from the pool according to each startup needs
5. Contract* between the SUN’s partner organization and each selected mentor
6. Delivery of mentorship, including reporting procedures

*If selected on the SUN programme as a mentor you will be asked to sign a contract containing a confidentiality agreement.

After completion of 2 successful mentoring service to an startup, mentors can use the experience and relationship with the SUN programme as reference for any further non-SUN contracts and will receive a certificate and a logo they can use on their electronic and paper documentation as a reference
