Young professionals travel almost 10 weekends per year excluding holidays. Averagely, they admit they could pay 15€ extra for their trip knowing that it is sunny throughout the weekend; single users would pay 30% overprice on their entire trip for going with a friend instead of alone. Feedback on the app prototype and market survey was collected from 100 people in 20 countries, whom well represent the pool of 15 million young professionals whom travel regularly by plane or train and book their trips via app. Travel market in Europe is worth 320 billion and grows by 3% yearly… maybe with an exception for 2020! The need for custom solutions is ever stronger and it is validated by the growth of physical travel agencies by 6% per year (against any forecast).
Our main competitors are metasearch engines like weekend.com and custom OTAs like secret escapes. We offer our customer the shortest planning time of all, but more importantly our unique selling points are the weather feature and the social network. In this field, there is only basic “doodles” to fill for matching travellers’ schedules. All above are weakened by the halt in the tourism industry, whilst SunnyWE will be in the frontline when people are fervent to travel again.
In the end of April, we will release the MVP and we aim at the first sale by June, pandemic permitting. We will release the app in September and from there obtain 50k downloads by December to grow steadily until break even in December 2023.
We are now raising 500k€ to survive 18 months and generate 1M revenue from the first 40k bookings
