The {Art}tist Label is creating an app that exclusively features curated independent music. The goal is to build the artist community and to tell the artist story. The idea is to offer indie artists an exclusive platform to reach fans and to be heard. The app is just one part of the movement. Users would use the app to find what’s new in independent music; help curate what’s hot by being designated curators; wear our clothes; and engage in live, in-person events. The movement is an all inclusive experience.

The movement would be phased in as follows:
Phase one initially will be focused on building our catalog. Our team will seek out new talent and drive indie artists to the app who will log-in and submit music for review. This phase will later include multiple daily listings of new, curated independent music covering different genres. 10-100 curators will log in to listen and rate music for the indie music feeds. This phase will later include multiple daily listings of new, curated independent music covering different genres. 10-100 curators will log in to listen and rate music for the indie music feeds. The phase will also include a marketing campaign creating experiences for college students around the app. These experiences include music industry focus groups for students, live performances by featured curated artists, and pop-up app demos. During this phase we will also feature selling merchandise, like t-shirts, hats, and phone cases. Our goal is to take a grassroots approach to promoting the app.
Phase 2 will incorporate a more extensive interactive library and include fan and band profiles, user playlists, and artist video libraries. We also plan to introduce an indie music festival during this phase.
Phase 3 will introduce an indie on-demand radio portion of the app.
Phase 4 will introduce a new age indie "record label." We plan to offer artists record deals with a new spin on how the content is released. Music releases will be centered around the app.
