With the development of insulation, energy used for heating of de housings decreased a lot in recent years. As a consequence, , energy used for heating of air is nowadays less than 30% of total energy consumption in new-build housings. 50% of total energy is now used to produce sanitary hot water. But warm water produced with this energy is thrown in the sewer still warm a few seconds after consumption.
To stop this waste, ThermiUp developped the first Heat Recovery device dedicated for collective housing with individual boilers, which accounts for 2/3 of the market of new-build collective housing in France.
ThermiUp allow to reduce of 1/3 (7 to 8 kWh/m2/year) the consumption of energy for the production of Sanitary hot water. One ThermiUp reduce CO2 emission of the building of approximately 500 kg/year (depending of the energy used).

The European Commission instituted wastewater heat recovery as a renewable energy source in its recast of the directive on the promotion of the use of energy from renewable sources, also known as RED II. ThermiUp can therefore integrate more than 15% of renewable energy in the energy mix of those collective housings. Many solutions exist to produce sanitary hot water with renewable energy in collective building with centralized production of sanitary hot water such as heat pumps, thermal solar, biomass boilers. But these solutions can’t be miniaturized in economical way for individual (per appartment) production of sanitary hot water, with is dominant in most countries like in France. ThermiUp can here provide an economical way to integrate renewable energy in this configuration of decentralized production of hot sanitary water.
ThermiUp is a 100% passiv solution. It has no pump, no valve, no regulation. It means it is simple to install without any settings. And that it is long lasting with very light maintenance. It is simple to integrate in new buildings, without changing current construction methods (no requirement to add technical shafts or to increase the dimensions of the existing ones.
