Thikamapo Biogas and Farming cc is a small scale Renewable Energy sme that is fully established and owened by Namibians, registration number of corporation: cc/2020/02679 located at Okaku - A village in Oshikuku Constituency, Omusati Region, Namibia. The Company was founded on the 8th June 2019 by Vilho Kalimbo a born resident of Oshikuku. Thikamapo is an entrepreneurial project working on a developmental ideology to fight against poverty, unemployment and hunger while sustaining the ecosystem. All these is to be achieved through the conversion of organic waste being kitchen, crop residue, abbatoir, food retailers etc. into two byproducts for socio-economic development, 1. Biogas: used for heat such as cooking, lighting and electricity generation while Biogas Fertilizer: is a rich nutrient fertilizer to improve the soil for crops production.

Biogas activities are naturally environmentally friendly and do mitigate greenhouse gaseous emissions, reduce air pollution, deforestation and it is indeed a greater valuable solution to organic waste management especially in urban areas and individuals institutions such as farms, and boarding schools. Biogas safety is ensured especially at a small scale use because it is lighter than air meaning in case of leakage it mixes quickly with air and no danger of explosion occur unlike lpg which is denser than air causing explosion in case of leakage and coming across to open flame.

Thikamapo is trying to find an alternative to the access of clean energy of which the masses long to have but unable to afford. Biogas Production is sustainable as plants continue to grow and organic waste generation will always be available. This will therefore assist many especially women and children to access clean energy and reduce health problems associated with traditional wood energy mostly used by many to cook, this will as well reduce other social problems such as rape which sometimes occur in the forests when women and young girls go out to fetch fire wood.

Thikamapo is very much aware that not everyone can afford a personal Biogas digester, hence we have a centralized digester feeding it with food waste collected from Oshikuku Town and here people living in the proximity of the plant can refill the Biogas backpacks to use at their houses at a very low cost as comparing to the price of lpg, electricity and firewood
