• Not being used, could be because of Impositions on Chemical processing of straw pulp, Seasonality, associated logistic challenges.


Solution Identified:
Pulping biomass by an eco-friendly process to address effluents & logistical challenges in producing biodegradable products.
Treating rice straw with enzymes followed by mechanical pulping should address these problems and can give better alternatives to plastic·

Project Strategy: TO
• Implement sample trials following complete randomised design to explore various methods of chemical-free pulp processing, consulting Identified Pulp technologists and Microbiologists of Hyderabad.
• Develop the pulp that can be used in moulding food-grade packaging of consistent quality.
• Establish that.
o Produced pulp is of food grade and 100% renewable.
o Pulp that can be used in developing packing material of strength like Styrofoam for commercial users to accept.
o Pulp that can be moulded into products of charters to prevent spillage, and is hot and cold food-friendly.
