I first met Jason last summer as an advisor in Babson's Summer Catalyst Program, and I was instantly struck by Jason's tenacity and motivation. Over the summer, I got to witness firsthand how Jason was able to overcome any adversities thrown his way. I saw Jason and the TicketRev team in action: solving problems, anticipating customer needs, recruiting talent, and communicating the vision. In weekly check-ins with Jason, I appreciated his keen eye for product and how quickly he iterated to build product, the market, and de-risk the venture.
Early on, Jason shared with me that one of his key goals was to participate in the Techstars Sports program, and I thought that there would be a strong fit. What impresses me most is Jason's ability to work through and build TicketRev through COVID-19, setting it up for success. I believe that TicketRev will thrive as we emerge from the pandemic and will be contribute greatly and also benefit from participation in the Techstars Sports program.
It is a pleasure to recommend Jason and his team to the Techstars program. Already revenue generating, Jason and the TicketRev team have had made incredible progress and are poised to have a 2021 full of growth that is in part fueled by market dynamics arising from the pandemic. On a personal lever, Jason is incredibly dedicated to everything he does and truly cares about people - which will allow for him to continue to build building out his team. Not only is Jason of strong entrepreneurial spirit he is also of the #GiveFirst mentality that we preach at Techstars, and would contribute to the community of founders in a meaningful way.
Jason is that special kind of young founder that has the tenacity to keep going in the face of so many obstacles AND the maturity to know when it's time to ask for help. I've been advising TicketRev for over 2 years so I've seen firsthand how Jason thinks, and how he treats people. He's resourceful, dedicated, smart and hardworking - but also curious, empathetic and supportive to those around him. He has been able to make progress on TicketRev despite the many curveballs the pandemic has thrown him. He cares a ton about supporting fellow entrepreneurs and building great products that people love to use. He's trying to solve a problem he has experienced directly and knows from many angles, he's talked to hundreds of customers to know exactly what they need. All these things are helping him to build TicketRev into an exciting startup. I think post pandemic, people are going to be really hungry to go to live events, and TicketRev is poised to meet them and deliver in a unique way.
Jason is a student entrepreneur at Babson. He is thoughtful, coachable and a great community member - always willing to help others and be engaged. I have been impressed with his knowledge of the space, particularly how to utilize the reverse auction model based on his business experiences from high school to create something new and unique in event ticketing. His is totally committed to making TicketRev a success and works very hard to progress his startup while still making it to class. When he doesn't know something he will actively seek out people to help him. I've enjoyed working with him and watching him move this startup forward.
