About Transit Tech Lab 2020
The Transit Tech Lab is an accelerator program for companies solving public transportation challenges.
The Transit Tech Lab is a program of the Transit Innovation Partnership, a public-private initiative of the Partnership for New York City and the MTA with the mission to make New York the global leader in public transportation. The Transit Tech Lab enables New York’s regional transit agencies to rapidly test innovative technologies to improve public transportation.
November 30, 2019: Applications due
January 14-16, 2020: Semifinalists present proposals in-person in New York
February 24, 2020: 8-week accelerator begins
June 10, 2020: Pilots launch to test promising solutions with MTA
Who Should Apply?
Growth-stage technology companies with proven solutions to one or more Lab challenges:
Challenge No. 1 - How can we reduce traffic by improving coordination at the curb?
Challenge No. 2 - How can public transit generate more entrepreneurial revenue?
Challenge No. 3 - How can we make New York’s public transit systems more accessible?
- Companies must have a working version of their technology and proven track record of successfully integrating with customers
- If selected, key team members must be able to attend accelerator events in-person in New York City for the duration of the program.
