About Transit Tech Lab 2020
The Transit Tech Lab is a free program that connects companies solving public transportation challenges with the largest public transit system in North America. The lab enables New York City’s regional transit agencies to rapidly test innovative technologies to improve public transportation.
December 4, 2019: Applications due
January 14-16, 2020: Semifinalists present proposals in-person in New York
February 24, 2020: 8-week accelerator begins
June 10, 2020: Pilots launch to test promising solutions with MTA
Who Should Apply?
Growth-stage technology companies with proven solutions to one or more Lab challenges:
Challenge No. 1 - How can we reduce traffic by improving coordination at the curb?
Challenge No. 2 - How can public transit generate more entrepreneurial revenue?
Challenge No. 3 - How can we make New York’s public transit systems more accessible?
- Companies must have a working version of their technology and proven track record of successfully integrating with customers
- If selected, key team members must be able to attend accelerator events in-person in New York City for the duration of the program.
