With that vision in mind we have built three different standards to allow money transactions in Social Media: 1) Collect by Notification (CBN) which is the standard that the local division of Enel (Chilectra, the biggest power distributor in Chile) has adopted to collect their bills using their Twitter and Facebook account; 2) Inbox Selling (IS) which is the standard we have been using with Virgin Mobile so their clients can top up their mobile phone using their own social media accounts; and 3) Post to Sale (P2S) which...
With that vision in mind we have built three different standards to allow money transactions in Social Media: 1) Collect by Notification (CBN) which is the standard that the local division of Enel (Chilectra, the biggest power distributor in Chile) has adopted to collect their bills using their Twitter and Facebook account; 2) Inbox Selling (IS) which is the standard we have been using with Virgin Mobile so their clients can top up their mobile phone using their own social media accounts; and 3) Post to Sale (P2S) which is a stantard made for small businesses which use Social Media as their only sales channel. This standard allow small businesses to profesionalize their work and also prevents them to engage with their buyers in long lasting inbox chats were they need to agree upon a wire transfer and shipping details.
Right now we are working integrating existing payment methods to social media, but, and because of a partnership with one of the most important Banks in Chile (BCI Bank) we are working in developing our own button. Also we are developing our own ecosystem, so we don’t rely only in Social Media and once we have an important base of customers we can take them there as well.
So in conclusion we have built three different standards that take payments to social media in different ways; in order to build a base of customers. To whom we are about to introduce our own payment button and to whom we will take to our own environment to not rely solely in Social Media.
I have known Pancho and Iván for almost a year in my position of Senior Innovation specialist in Chilectra, because Uanbai won the “Desafío Eléctrico” challenge in late 2014. The challenge was an invitation to the most disruptive startups that could work partner up with Chilectra, the largest Power Distributor of Chile, and part of Enel, a Multinational Corporation that serves over 85 Million of customers around the World. Uanbai came in the first place with their solution to collect the bills using Social Media, because provides us an excellent solution on a critical matter such as the payment of the bill; specially because it gives the speed of Auto billing but with the control of a payment that it’s done physically. In Chilectra, we want to push the payment with Chilectra as a way to engage our customers, and after the launch here in Chile, Enel wants to evaluate and to incorporate usage of the platform all over LATAM and Europe. So, I strongly recommend Uanbai.
I know Pancho Troncoso in my position of Global Networks Director of Start-Up Chile since he entered the program with Uanbai, and I have to admit that I constantly request for his assistance to tell his experience as an entrepreneur when we receive very prestigious foreign MBA delegations, such as Duke, NYU and Yale. I choose him as a speaker because I acknowledge how inspiring he can be, how a great and motivational leader he is, and how remarkable performance they have done with Uanbai.
I also know Iván Kruze, and how talented as a programmer he is, so I can asure that they form a great team that complement each other, achieving great things such as the contract with Twitter, or winning the Open Talent of BBVA Bank.
Uanbai is one of our top startups; chosen to represent Start-Up Chile in South Summit in Spain and I strongly recommend them to the Barclays accelerator program, since I can see that in a bigger market and with a global network, they could become a Billion Dollar Company!
I met Pancho, when he got accepted to Startup Chile in my position of Executive Director of the program, and I strongly recommend his application for the Barclays Accelerator Program, since I have seen all what he has accomplished with Uanbai and I have seen all their hardwork and commitment.
Pancho is a very inspiring leader, with a lot of talent, great business vision, and who knows how to get things done, since with Uanbai they have secure deals with major corporations such as Virgin Mobile, Chilectra and recently with BBVA; and also he is the only startup that has been in the Startup Chile program that has set a partnership directly with Twitter. Since they acknowledge the great potential that Uanbai has as a payment platform based on Direct Messaging.
Uanbai is one of the most promising Startups from Startup Chile, and with the strong support of a Financial leader as Barclays I am positive that they can seriously disrupt in the payment industry in a Global Scale.
