THE CHALLENGE
Considering that digital has become an important growth lever for TF1 and the differentiation of digital services a strategic priority, it has become essential for TF1 to experiment with new and innovative solutions, using a “test & learn” approach. TF1 has the ambition to collaborate with young and agile startups with the ability to propose innovative solutions that address TF1’s key challenges. THE CHALLENGE

TF1 has the ambition to collaborate with young and agile startups with the ability to propose innovative solutions that address TF1’s key challenges. The aim of this collaboration is to develop synergies, co-experiment, and consider the startups as business partners with TF1.

Oliver Abecassis, Chief Digital Officer at TF1 is convinced that “this approach will enable TF1 to create close partnerships with agile startups or mid-size companies. TF1 believes in virtuous exchanges, win-win partnerships with established media companies and with the agile and innovative startup ecosystem”.

This initiative involves all of TF1’s businesses: content production, VOD content distribution, advertising, TF1 Games, etc.
In order to reinvent its own business model and to consider alternative models, to address its viewers’ new expectations and modes of usage, and to compete in this new environment, TF1 is posting this challenge.

Online advertising is already ahead of traditional TV advertising in some geographies and there has been more innovation on ad formats over the past years in the previous 50 years combined. Thus, remaining relevant for traditional broadcasters is key in the middle of a data-rich, connectivity-related advertising ecosystem. Programmatic represents already 50% of online delivery... and is coming to linear TV in the medium term.

TF1 is interested in hearing from start-ups that are working on :
- Innovation - data typing, ad tech, etc.
- Multi-platform integration - ad on mobile before or after TV viewing
- Content / advertising integration - "next generation" brand content
