Company expert in software apps for automatic analysis of video data
Amazing things Walter's made
My Phd thesis paper is among the most cited paper on automatic analysis on soccer video (several hundreds citations: goo.gl/OPJ6K1).
I have taught the Processing programming language for 10 editions of the University of Florence Master in Multimedia. In this period, my students created and released various open-source libraries.
In 2011, we released one of the first WebGL enabled web sites, the Musint virtual museum (goo.gl/J3zUqI), featuring high-resolution models of 3D objects.
More recently, with project CHEST we launched a participative traffic monitoring campaign using the Raspberry PI device equipped with custom software to demonstrate how citizen can be involved in data-acquisition activities in the traffic domain (chest-trafficflow.magentalab.it/).
I've had the pleasure to work with Walter for several years. He is both a great entrepreneur and a researcher, and successfully combines the different attitudes required in both jobs.
His knowledge of current state-of-the-art video analysis techniques, thanks to his PhD in computer vision, allows him to understand and develop algorithms that do not work only in a lab setup but that can also be deployed in the real world.
He has a goal oriented attitude and the strong engineering knowledge that allows to reach the goals of his project.
We have worked together on development of algorithms and systems for video analysis within European and national research projects. These projects have addressed development of bleeding edge algorithms and technology transfer to different firms.
I had the opportunity to engage with Magenta and work with Walter Nunziati during our experience in the CHEST project (www.chest-project.eu/ - we were both sub-grantees). I always appreciated both the quality of their products and the great working ethics and skills. Looking forwards to working together again sometime soon. Sincerely, Gregory
I've collaborated with Walter for several years on many different projects involving mobile and web technology. He helped design the Firenze Turismo mobile application, which is the flagship app for tourism in Florence.
He was able to manage many complex requirements and interface with various stakeholders, and was able to get through the project and deliver great results.
