Working Capital Accelerator is the Telecom Italia Program that has been supporting talents and ideas since 2009 to transform them into cutting-edge enterprises ready to enter the market, directly supporting the birth and development of startups.

As of today, #Wcap counts a total of 179 supported startups in its different editions. In particular, the accelerator accredited 109 Grants given, 19 startups funded and incubated, 36 pre-incubated ones and, in 2013, for the first time, 15 acceleration programs issued.

Although this edition is dedicated to “Make in Italy”, it is not intended just for Italian talents. The Call, starting this year, will in fact also seek talents from abroad; it is an international “Call for Ideas”. The 2014 edition will assign 40 new Grants of the value of 25.000 Euros each, which will also include access to the acceleration programs in one of our 4 accelerators located in Milan, Bologna, Rome and Catania. The 2014 edition will assign 40 new Grants of the value of 25.000 Euros each, which will also include access to the acceleration programs in one of our 4 accelerators located in Milan, Bologna, Rome and Catania. The Grants and the programs will be given to projects dedicated to Internet, digital life, mobile evolution and sustainability matters.

In addition this year, #Wcap will be introducing some real novelties. The first consists in the “Seed Investment Program” launched by the Telecom Italia Group, who will invest 4.5 Million Euros over the next 3 years in startups’ equity or stock options. The second refers to a new “Crowdfunding Platform” (reward and equity based), where ideas and projects can find investors in community members and get funded. The platform will be an important addition to the existing Repository, realized in collaboration with the Kauffman Society, to guarantee our startups a national and international visibility with potential investors. Those activities will join last edition features such as: the “Albo Veloce”, that currently contains more than 90 startups, and the “Innovation Basket”, a fund of 1 Million Euros; pillars for the development and support of new businesses.
