Two wheelers are the most important and most widely used mode of commute in India (~6X that of cars). It would be extremely beneficial to users (affordable & sustainable personal mobility), environment (reduce air pollution) as well the economy (reduce dependence on imported crude oil) if we switch to electric two wheelers (E2Ws). New sales of E2Ws is just ~0.5%.

Even though the E2W technology is comparable to internal combustion two wheelers (IC2W) and total cost of ownership already lower, the adoption of E2Ws in India is abysmally low. The problems impeding E2W adoption are Lack of Awareness, Absence of Trusted E2Ws, Limited sales & after sale services infrastructure, 20-40% Higher Capital Cost, Limited & Unattractive Finance Options, Low / No Resale Value / Exit Options, Subsequent Capex on Batteries, etc.

We will build the world’s largest circular economy of E2Ws in the world by (i) ensuring that we refurbish and recycle E2Ws and maximize their life and (ii) match user requirements and affordability with different types / age / cost of E2Ws.
Further, we will build the nascent E2W ecosystem by making Welectric a multi-brand omni-channel One Stop Shop for all E2W requirements.

We have already started providing E2W lease rental solutions to institutions (B2B), which use two wheelers for last mile deliveries. We will soon start offering this solution to individuals (B2C) by specifically targeting College Students, White Collar Employees and Blue Collar Employees. It is our vision to the make the next generation an EV first generation and transform the two wheeler landscape in India to electric over the course of this decade.
